The Two Five Ones
Incorporating jazz and blues classics from 1920s right through to the 1970s The Two Five Ones really capture the vintage vibe with their own unique laid back style. Comprised of Dara MacGabhann on vocals and Andy Hogg on guitar, the duo share a love for blues standards and amongst their repertoire are such artists as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald & Frank Sinatra along with Gershwin and Cole Porter favourites. The twosome also perform a number of original songs which are guaranteed to get you ‘In a swing’. Both artists have already established themselves musically both locally and beyond. Dara launched her album ‘Release’ last January with her band in the Market House, Monaghan and has been gracing the airwaves ever since. Andy performs regularly with a number of bands throughout Cavan, Monaghan and Fermanagh. However, the duo have been turning heads and generating great interest since they have combined their talents to concentrate on the jazz & blues standards from the late 1920s onwards. Fresh from providing support to Mary Coughlan earlier this month, their set for the October Showcase will include some Halloween themed classics along with some original material
To coincide with our annual Haloween Showcase Nelly Clarke, professional piano player, and private piano teacher in Monaghan town along with her student Lara Ó Mairtín will treat us to piano accompaniment to the 1910 silent movie Mary Shelly’s Frankinstein.
