Originally from Emyvale, County Monaghan, Edelle now lives in Belfast. Starting out as a sean-nós performer as a child, Edelle has repeatedly received province- and country-wide Irish traditional and folk awards over the course of two decades. After relocating to Belfast, she spent several years with Northern Irish alt-country-rockers Jackson Cage. Her first solo single, Belle Curve, was released in Oct 2014 and is available to download from Amazon and iTunes. Blending influences ranging from sean-nós storytelling to starkly confessional acoustics, Edelle’s music features a spellbinding mix of heart-tugging melodies, powerfully brooding lyrics, and haunting vocals. Edelle’s material spans everything from folk-inflected autumnal guitar ballads to upbeat acoustic pop and rousing a capella trad. A regular on the Belfast gig circuit and one of the organisers of the city’s acoustic showcase, the Lagan Sessions, Edelle is currently working on a studio album with former Jackson Cage band mate, Paul Wilkinson.
